¿De qué trata Top of the Lake?

Un extraño lugar en el que ocurre un extraño crimen... Top of the Lake comienza con un misterioso evento, una niña de 12 años se mete en el agua helada de un lago de South Island (Nueva Zelanda). Esa niña es Tui Mitcham, hija del narcotraficante Matt Mitcham y su tercera mujer, una camarera tailandesa. Más tarde se descubre que la joven está embarazada de cinco meses y tras negarse a decir quién es el padre, desaparece.
